About This Site

Who is this site for?

Welcome! This site is for community-oriented amateur artists, keen on exploring their creative energy, while considering shared values about the environment and sustainability. Other creatives working in their gardens, homes and social communication may also find this site of interest.

I appreciate that true artists are creative souls. They dive in passionately and experiment liberally with styles and mediums. Many view art as a hobby or seek purity of personal expression, exploring subjects, colours and palettes according to what they like or what inspires them. Many are, like me, concerned about their use of materials and consumerism, and are reluctant to promote either themselves or their artistic output.

How to use this site?

Rework Trends, as a website, is in its infancy. Please explore it and consider the concept work as well as a few sample Blog entries.

In this initial phase, a cross-section group will be asked for feedback on Rework Trend’s approach, content and the ease of navigation. The initial focus will be on the effectiveness of the Web as a sharing mechanism for community-based arts support.

In the secondary phase, the website will be refined and launched, soliciting input from the local arts community. This launch will be accompanied by in-person discussions and presentations, promoting the joint arts and science concept. Year One explore if this website can provide or link to useful information from the annual Sunshine Coast Art Crawl and other arts events locally.

In a further phase, Rework Trends will reach out, exploring broader connections consistent with environmental themes. The website will develop affiliations with artists promoting work linking ecology and art (i.,e. Teas and Bees in the Garden) and the use of art for fund-raising purposes, for animal or wildlife welfare,
